# Preparing API keys

1. Log in to your account on [E-Gates](https://e-gates.io/).
2. Ensure that your **KYB** is approved and that you've enabled **2FA**. Keep in mind that you should first have your **KYC** request approved before proceeding to fill out the **KYB** form.
3. Navigate to the **API Manager** in the left-side navigation bar (under the Account tab) or access it quickly through the [direct link](https://e-gates.io/profile/merchant).
4. Click the "**Add API key**" button within the opened modal window: 
   * Enter the name of the future API key. (This name will only be used to simplify key identification on your E-Gates dashboard);
   * Tick the "**PassMe**" checkbox**;**
   * Click on the "**Confirm"** button.
5. Activate the API key you've created by toggling the **switch** next to its name.

***Note** that* you can have a maximum of 5 API keys active on your account *at the same time.*
